Today I would like to share a card with you that we completed in a class I taught last weekend.  This adorable image is by Crissy Armstrong one of my favourite artists.  Crissy designed this image for Whimsy Stamps.  This particular one is called "Smell the Flowers" and it is a new release for February.

I really enjoy using Flower Soft so we have some of that for the grass & I also used some Viva Decor Pearl pen in Turquoise for the flowers, around the circle and for what looks like brads in the centre of the Kaiser Craft flower.  Very cool little pens!

Sitting Summer Willow & Mushroom - Whiff of Joy

Happy Sunday Everyone:

Today I have a card to share with you that will be part of a class this weekend.  I'm using Sitting Summer Willow & the Mushroom from Whiff of Joy.  I sure wish my photography skills were better because I think this card is very pretty in the "real".  Here's hoping the girls in class today think so too.

I received the Viva Decor Pearl Pens in this week and just couldn't wait to try them out.  Thanks to the girls in Alberta who suggested I carry them in the on-line store....these pens are the BEST!  I created all the little pearls on the card with the Lt. Green Pearl Pen.  I also used Flower Soft "Meadow", I'm lovin' the look that Flower Soft adds, must husband says "it's like a little putting green".  I airbrushed around Willow with some YR000, YR00 & YR01 with a tiny bit of G20.

Abigail Apple - Kraftin' Kimmie

Happy Valentine's Day Everyone:

Well I'm sitting working away chatting with my friend by email last night around 5:00 PM when it suddenly dawned on me that today was Valentine's Day.  Wholly you have never seen a Mom run so fast to the store so fast.  All the way there I'm thinking how am I going to explain to my 9 year old that I forgot to get treats for her little party today.  I get there & I'm standing in front of all the boxes of Valentine's cards trying to find just the right one for her friends.  I finally make the decision thinking these should be just perfect.  Okay one thing down...now let's find the treats.  Have you ever tried to find "No Nut" products for Valentine's?  Well let me tell you the selection is slim to none.  So I opted for Rice Crispy squares & real fruit snack treats.  I'm quite pleased with all my selections so I head for the cashier & I'm quite excited to get home to show Emilee what I bought.  Are you wondering how this played out?  Well the treats were a hit infact since she doesn't get much in the way of junk food anymore the Crispy squares were a hit but the Valentine cards...not so much.  See I bought Barbie cards...now who knew that Barbie was not cool to give when you are 9.  What's a mother to do I ask?  The choices were quite limited.  So needless to say we won't be handing out Valentine's cards.  Although she did very politely ask me to started making 35 Valentine's cards for everyone.  See her feeling was that Mom is a card maker and therefore she should have homemade cards for her friends.  My response...maybe next year!!

Okay so that was my story for today...now onto my card.  I used the lovely Abigail Apple from Kraftin' Kimmie.  I think I love brown with just about every other colour.  It really is the new black as it works with so many other colours.

Patsy & Jukebox - Kraftin' Kimmie

Happy Sunday Everyone:

It's a mild wintery day here today temps are just -2, woo hoo!  Might be a good day to go tobogganing with our little one.  Today is Kraftin' Kimmie February Release with a 50's & 60's theme, some new Miles & a new Maisie.  I chose Patsy & Jukebox to work with first from this release.

Download Diva - Whimsy

Happy Tuesday Everyone:

My first question is who has a little girl or "Diva" in the house?  Both my arms are up in the air...pick me I say!  Our daughter who is 9 certainly fits this bill!!  She has every single old cell phone my husband, her brother & I have ever owned.  Now how many old cell phones does one little girl actually need?  Oh and don't forget the old Ipod's & Walk-man's too.  When I saw this stamp "Download Diva" come up for release last month from Whimsy it was on list to buy so fast.  The artist Kenny K is simply amazing.  His ability to capture today's girls is just awesome...or at least I think so.

We completed this card in this past weekend's class.  Everyone had mixed reviews on the image itself & I do believe we need to look at the demographic that this type of image fits.  These and the others by Kenny K are aimed at the teenage crowd for sure.  I often run for stamps that I like to colour rather than stamps that fit the person I'm making the card for.  Anyone else besides me ever do that?  I am trying to make the effort to make what I think the recipient will want albeit it is really hard sometimes.  Well enough chitter chatter...as always these are only my opinions.  Bottom line for me is I love these stamps from Whimsy so keep them coming Kenny K....oh by the way there will be a new release posting on the website tomorrow night from none other than Kenny K of course.  There will also be releases from the totally amazing Crissy Armstrong...and let me tell you they are stunning!

Sunshine - S.w.a.l.k.

Happy Monday Everyone:
